An algorithm is a computer program with a series of mathematical step-by-step, rules and instructions that can perform rigorous tasks, analyze data, solve a specific problem or reach a result.
A coder writes the code that produces the data from the algorithms.
A programmer chooses the data produced by the algorithm and decides how to apply the results.
It is kinda like the people who wrote history books.
The author chooses the stories to tell from their point of view.
Now with that being said
The programmer can decide what data you see.
The program can manipulate your search result data depending on your sex, race, age, religion, politics, location, date, time, or anything else.
You will never get the true data from any type of search results.
Google, Bing, or Yahoo decide what content from your search is delivered to you.
